You can envision seeds as the beginning of your Journey in trying to understand the Kihon Happo which is the fundamental basis of Budo. Eventually, and with the right conditions your seed will begin to develop its first roots, which will travel down to anchor itself into the earth. You have the beginning, and with the right nutrients and the right natural non obstructive energy, you will see that the seed begins to grow and reach itself beyond natural limitations as it yearns for the natural energy of the sun and light. Again on the seeds’ journey it needs the right nutrients and commitment to be nurtured not only from mother earth but from those that tend the garden or the ground.
If we feed those seeds with the right ingredients and in the right conditions and environment – they will undoubtedly grow into strong roots and will eventually become as strong and as tall as the largest tree in the forest. This to my mind is part of the essence of the Kihon.
However, we can feed our seeds with the wrong nutrients and the wrong conditions and whilst you feel like you are making progress in life, you are, in fact, holding yourself back. You feed your seeds of Budo with negativity, and this negativity can come in many forms. I know this from personal experience. Look at the Bonsai; a most beautiful miracle of nature and yet it’s life is in the hands of the one who cares for it, who feeds it and gives it the right environmental conditions and energy – sometimes this is nature’s suicide. This is the epitome of the Kihon Happo. It is no wonder that when we first buy that tree, it dies, and that is because we only perceive the tree with our material vision, and we have misconceptions of its very nature. You are constantly feeding yourself and your seeds with negativity, and you fail to see that it is as simple as a choice and of making that choice is the choice not only to grow but to seek happiness through enlightenment. Yet your primordial instinct to destroy and hunt is not the reality of your essence, it is not your real nature and merely an illusion.
Words are as sharp as the blade and can cut as cleanly right through your being. You feed your seeds negatively by your thoughts and your actions, and yet you remain oblivious to your own nature. The true nature of Budo is seeing the very nature of reality in the sixth dimension and not what you merely touch. The void is within you and though your ego places you in front of others you meet or perceive with eyes of the merchant rather than of the mystic. Seeds of jealousy, anger and hatred have grown within you and the more you are enticed by other’s beliefs that have already fed the seeds of negativity the more you are producing a natural Forrest of negativity.
This is a destroyer of the self and will at some point show itself as manifested in the dojo, in your life and will eventually destroy yourself from the inside out. It is important to understand awareness and to know that when you are aware of your thoughts, it is better to transform them than to try and deny them or destroy them. Why always try to win when your winning will only bring suffering to the other person. Why judge when you have no right to judge other than yourself. In judging others, you are denying the weakness in yourself, and you are placing yourself above all. In fact, you may actually be the weed in the garden that although has its inner beauty is destructive in nature because of its greed and desire to take over. The stronger your inner seeds are by feeding them with the right thoughts, actions and conditions, then your nature and reality can’t be touched, and though you may be the target of those with negative seeds, you receive and give back only positivity, which can help to transform the seeds of negativity to transform the weed into a beautiful flower worthy of adorning any garden, especially the garden of your mind.
Please be aware of your thoughts and your actions and only feed your seeds with love, acceptance, happiness and understanding. See that we are all on a path and that winning or proving yourself above others is the fertilizer that feeds the seeds of negativity within your spirit. Budo is perhaps the essence of life and the divinity within you, so feed your Budo with the purest of thoughts and actions then perhaps you may understand your own connectivity.
