Bipolar Disorder – a case for insanity or spirit infestation
It seems to be the new celebrity fashion and more and more of them are being diagnosed with the condition. It is also a case for insanity as murderers and rapists are found not guilty by insanity, yet, is there more to this than meets the eye? Do we have a case for spiritual misrepresentation; is there a spiritual solution to the problem?
Bipolar disorder is a disease that can be understood as the ‘Dark Knight of the soul’ and the destroyer of virtual reality. In the snap of a twig, one person can change from being the nicest person on earth to a person driven by pure evil and hate which of course is a common factor for murder and other heinous crimes. It would seem that Bipolar disorder is the new name for ‘Manic Depression.’ We know that depressive states can be the catalyst for infestation of negative sprits that try to control the will of the host. Perhaps this may be another hypothesis of Bipolar disorder.
What is it?
Until recent studies, not much has been known about Bipolar disorder and much of the understanding of the condition was brushed under the carpet or put down to manic depression. The constant between manic depressive states and Bipolar disorder is the same, such as mood swings, hallucinations, hearing voices and delusions. In extreme cases the individual will be suicidal and may also show psychotic symptoms, and may carry out criminal acts that would not normally be within their personality trait. Celebrities such as Stephen Fry, Sting, Jean Claude Van Damme, Elvis Presley, Ben Stiller and many more have been diagnosed with the condition.
Most people will tell you that when they suffer a depressive attack it is a real feeling of being taken over by something else and many of the non affected persons in the company of the afflicted will vouch for the fact that it seems like it is not them – the personality of the individual with the condition has gone and something else has taken its place. The person can feel anxious and may suffer from bad anxiety attacks that prevent them from living a normal wholesome life. The afflicted will very often lose sight of reality. Other Symptoms of bipolar disorder generally remain the same from one case to the next in a patient, but they may get worse or better. Symptoms of the disorder include euphoria, increased self-esteem, rapid speech, racing thoughts, excessive irritability, increased energy, and decreased need for sleep. Symptoms of depression include sadness, loss of interest in activities, fatigue and thoughts of death. Psychotic features will also occur in extreme circumstances such as hallucinations and delusions.
Bipolar disorder is frequently misdiagnosed because people who are manic tend not to seek treatment.
Any constants?
The signs and symptoms are constant in most cases but of course they also run parallel and in conjunction with another hypothesis for spiritual infestation and possession. The same symptoms lie within the cases of demonic infestation or possession.
The spiritual Conundrum is this; where do we draw the line between an illness and an almost paranormal problem that may or may not be treated either with pills or spiritual work being done. The danger lies when in both cases – death may be inevitable if no intercession of some kind is sought. The hearing of Voices and seeing visions that can’t be explained naturally can be attributed to spiritual phenomena and I know that many a scientist will deny the existence of this, but I must state that we have a great deal of evidence that proves its existence. Perhaps in some extreme instances of murder, we can attribute that to a psychological disorder, but what about the hypothesis that it may be the will of a non human entity. We know that instances of paranormal events can be explained as natural phenomena but we also have cases where the evidence is exactly the opposite and is of a questionable dark source. In short, bipolar disorder could be the beginning of the infestation of spirits and perhaps this is the reason for feeling the dark night of the soul.
What can we do?
Obviously there are medical treatments available for illnesses such as Bipolar disorder or other psychological illness. There are other spiritual modalities that we can employ to perhaps alleviate the suffering brought on by the disorder. There’s a great deal of conjecture surrounding the mind, body connection and the ability to heal from within, however can we really deny this phenomena when it has been employed with great success for thousands of years. Prayer is one sure way of changing our energy body or having some form of energy healing on a regular basis will also have a dramatic affect on the body. Pure intention alone can inhibit the onset of a condition and behind the condition is the belief that you have been healed or will be healed. Reading books such as “Heal your life” by Louise L Hay will enlighten you to the mind body connection and has many examples of healing by intention only.
Meditation is perhaps the oldest healing modality that we know of and throughout time there have been many examples of when healing has occurred due to the invalid being in the meditative state. Further, scientific evidence is available that shows that distance healing can be effective when one or more individuals in the meditative state – concentrate on that particular subject.
In conclusion, bipolar disorder and other disorders of the psyche could be attributed to spiritual phenomena of a negative energy, spirit or non-human entity. Conceivably we may have to look at these possibilities to investigate the mind, body connection in the future and the chance that spiritual encounters of a non-human kind may play a role in the psychological disorders that we face today.
