If you really knew the truth, the pitfalls and the dangers; would you really want to become a Medium? It is unfortunate that most people who know mediums or who have been exposed to Mediums – Instantly want to become one. There seems to be a new trend in the world today and becoming a medium is like the new fashion craze and a must have accessory such as a Gucci hand bag. The truth is that you have to accept that opening to spirit – even with protection – does have its inherent dangers and will affect your life in so many ways. Ninety percent of mediums at some point have gone through a lot of suffering, heartache and so many life experiences that allow them to access and empathize with others both in this world and the next.

No matter what you do as a developing or professional medium, you have to expect a great deal of interruption from the other side and you had best learn to discern between a negative and a positive vibration. When you open up to the other side, you are there as a beacon for all to see – good and bad. Experiencing this makes you wonder if it is all worth it until you are able to successfully do the work that spirit has asked you to do. Unfortunately most individuals like the idea of being able to communicate with discarnate entities as if it were a really cool thing to do and this is why perhaps the standards of mediumship may have dropped. Consequently this has also brought with it further dangers when people that desire to develop this gift of the spirit – do so without the real divine passion and understanding that is needed.

I know this from experience due to the many individuals that I have met and the same response is a constant “I would really love to be able to do that, Its so cool but obviously I want to do it to help others.” You know instantly that the individual is not doing it for the right reasons; therefore you get the GUCCI syndrome as I prefer to call it. Let me just say that spirit decides who is to be used and how they may be used. Consequently, all that we do is aide in our development rather than having a general desire to look cool and demonstrate what would seem to be an amazing display of spiritual wonder.

One Response to “Why do you really want to be a Medium”

  1. As a working medium I would like to emphasise to all that may read this, that working with Spirit is not a game or an entertainment.

To work with Spirit requires dedication, perseverance and patience. It is essential to be very sure of your own motives as to why you wish to work with Spirit. If you look upon communication with Spirit as being a way to gain popularity or an oppertunity to show off, then perhaps you do not have the necessary qualities to develop as a medium with integrity.

In my experience you have to be very strong in yourself. There will be times when your attunement with Spirit is very strong and communication flows easily, and there will also be times When all the progress you feel that you have made in your attunement with Spirit, and the development of your Spiritual senses, seems to be unravelling. You may feel that all your effort has been for nothing. I am sure that many mediums will recognise this feeling. During this time Spirit may feel very distant, but in my experience they will draw close to work with you again.

Mediumship is variable, the depth of communication changes with each demonstration. It is very important to become familiar with the energy of Spirit, and how to recognise and work with that energy, not to manipulate or cajole, but to encourage, and adapt your vibration to meet the vibration of Spirit.

It is important to keep a positive attitude when preparing to work with Spirit, not to be discouraged by a period of low energy and poor attunement, and always strive to be the best Listener that you can be through the use of all your Spiritual Senses.

Try to keep a balance in all aspects of your life, and look after your own well being. Know and recognise when it is time to rest, so that you will come back to working with Spirit refreshed and with a positive outlook.
